DEWEY: More Than Fashion — A Movement for Representation, Identity, and Belonging
At Storo, we believe the most powerful stories are those that move people. Stories that challenge assumptions, amplify unheard voices, and shift the way we see the world.
Our latest collaboration with DEWEY, the world’s first height-inclusive fashion brand for adults under 5ft, is exactly that kind of story
Directed and produced by Storo’s founder, Riccardo Sai, this purpose-driven film captures the heart and soul behind a brand that is reshaping fashion—and reimagining who it’s truly for.
Why This Story Matters
Fashion has long excluded the extra-petite. Since the 1950s, when sizing standards were introduced across the industry, adults under five feet tall have been largely overlooked—left to shop in children’s departments, pay for costly tailoring, or settle for clothes that don’t reflect who they are.
The emotional and psychological impact is significant.
2.5 billion adults globally are 5ft and under
96% agree that clothing affects their emotional state
70% of women feel more self-conscious in clothes that don’t fit properly
DEWEY isn’t just addressing this issue—they’re leading a movement to fix it. This is fashion with function, dignity, and emotional purpose. A brand created by and for those who’ve felt unseen for far too long.
From Kitchen Table to Culture Shift
At the centre of the story is Chamiah Dewey, the brand’s founder and designer. What began at her kitchen table has grown into an award-winning label with a loyal following, sell-out collections, and 14 industry accolades. But more than that, it has become a beacon of hope for a global community.
In the film, Chamiah shares her personal journey—her love of fashion, her frustration at not finding clothes that fit, and the bold decision to create what didn’t exist.
Alongside her, we meet Chris Savva, DEWEY’s co-founder and CEO, whose strategic leadership is scaling the brand’s reach while preserving its integrity.
The cast also includes two extraordinary ambassadors: Ellie Simmonds, five-time Paralympic gold medallist, and Jowita Przystał, winner of Strictly Come Dancing. Both bring powerful insight and lived experience to the screen, reflecting on the ways fashion—or the lack of it—has shaped their identities, confidence, and careers.
A New Standard in Fit
DEWEY’s clothing is designed using a proprietary data-driven sizing system tailored specifically to the needs of adults under 5ft 2”. Unlike most “petite” ranges, which merely shorten hems, DEWEY’s garments are re-proportioned from the ground up.
The result? Stylish, timeless clothing that fits straight off the rack—with no compromises, no awkward workarounds, and no need to alter who you are to fit in.
This is not just a better product. It’s a better way forward.
Purpose-Led Storytelling in Action
Shot entirely in studio, the film blends candid interviews with bold, graphic storytelling and campaign visuals that reflect DEWEY’s energy, optimism, and clarity of purpose.
The tone is warm, dynamic, and honest—celebrating real stories of transformation while inviting viewers to be part of something bigger.
For us at Storo, this project embodies what purpose-led storytelling is all about: using our craft to bring truth to light and meaning to the surface. We’re proud to have collaborated so closely with the DEWEY team to shape and elevate their message.
This is why we do what we do.
